When a monster is unable to conform to the mindless repetition, an exorcism is performed in an attempt to discipline and force conformity. Unsuccessful, the monster is deemed unfit and cast off into the margins. 

The goal of capital is to extract as much value as possible. When one isn’t able to advance this goal, they are deemed invaluable and disposable. This system produces mental anguish and distress, however, rather than address the root cause, the burden of mental health is placed on the individual. Unable to fit into the narrow constructs of society, they are cast out.
